Marc Guéhi was born in Abidjan, Ivory Coast but moved to London, England at a very early age. Starting out as an U6 at Cray Wanderers, a semi-professional side in Bromley, Guéhi spent three years playing football there before Chelsea's academy scouted him.
The Chelsea academy graduate has been ever present in the England youth setup going from U16s to captaining his side at various different youth levels. The composed centre-back now finds himself in the England U21s, having made 11 appearances so far. His most notable achievements internationally have been captaining the U17 side to a European Championship Final place in 2017 and also scoring twice on different occasions for the U19s in their bid for qualification to the 2019 UEFA European Under-19 Championship.
Marc Guéhi has found his success and plaudits playing on loan in the EFL Championship for Swansea. Under Steve Cooper, the Swansea City manager, who was appointed in June 2019, Guéhi has played 59 times in all competitions now for the Swans since his arrival in January 2020. Now with over 18 months of high-level professional football under his belt, Guéhi is more than ready to play week in week out at a first division side. South London side Crystal Palace are rumoured to be interested in the availability of the young Englishman and it is unsure as to whether the deal would be a loan or a permanent one.
With almost 3,600 minutes of football this season in the league, Marc Guéhi had cemented his place as a star player alongside Welsh youngster Ben Cabango, who also had a great campaign.
Guéhi is a composed player on the ball and is more than comfortable in possession. Off the ball, his pace and strength enables him to win the ball back easily and, for example, against a tough, physical striker in Daryl Dike, over the two-legged playoff semi-final fixture against Barnsley, the defender got the better of him in both legs. This highlighted and emphasised just how good Guéhi had been throughout the season.

Ultimately, Marc Guéhi is a fantastic centre back and even if he doesn't get the chance under Chelsea boss, Thomas Tuchel, Guéhi will develop more and more as the years go on.
A very high 9/10, in my opinion, in terms of potential and he could definitely be a key player at a top European side in the future.
